Eu preciso classificar coleção por algumas colunas. Eu tenho lista de objetos onde cada objeto contém columnName e sortDir (Asc ou Desc). Então, como eu posso fazer isso? Eu tentei fazer isso por reflexão, mas eu tenho o erro:

Expressões como esta

obj => obj.GetType().GetProperty(sort.columnName).GetValue(obj, null)

pode ser aplicável no contexto LINQ To Objects, mas definitivamente não no LINQ to Entities.

Em geral, você não pode usar reflexão (e muitosoutros métodos) dentro da expressão de consulta LINQ to Entities porque eles não podem ser convertidos para SQL (ou o provedor de consulta não os reconhece e os manipula, portanto NotSupportedException).

Em vez de reflexão, você deve construir a expressão usando System.Linq.Expressions.

Por exemplo, assim:
